1. Choose ONE Troop Type

The biggest beginner mistake is developing Ranged, Infantry and Riders at the same time.

Ranged Infantry Riders

Choose one main troop type early and invest most of your resources into it.

2. Build ONE Main March

Better

1 very strong march

Instead of

3 average marches

One strong march wins fights. Three weak marches lose fights.

3. Prioritize Heroes Correctly

Finish one hero first. Then the next one.

Not
  • Nova half-built
  • Julia half-built
  • Louis half-built
Instead
  • Finish Nova
  • then Julia
  • then the next hero

Hero Suggestions by Troop Type

After choosing your main troop type, focus your hero development around that troop type.

RidersDaryl
InfantryBodala

These examples are useful starting points for players who are still building their first strong march.

Important: Do not spread your fragments and resources across too many heroes at the same time.

Low-Spender / F2P Hero Advice

If you invest only a little money or play mostly free-to-play, do not chase every S-Hero early.

S-Heroes can become very strong, but they usually need a lot of fragments and resources before they are truly effective.

Avoid Early
  • Many unfinished S-Heroes
  • Spreading fragments too widely
  • Changing your main march too often
Better Early
  • Focus one strong normal hero first
  • Build one reliable main march
  • Save premium resources for long-term goals

Rule: A finished normal hero is usually more useful than an expensive S-Hero that is only half-built.

4. Assistants Work Differently

Assistants provide skills and star unlocks.

Assistants normally do not require investment in armaments or talent tree optimization.

Important: Armaments only count for the leader hero.

5. Power Is Not Everything

More power does not automatically mean more combat strength.

  • Technology
  • Commander Equipment
  • Troop Equipment
  • Armaments
  • Hero Combinations

6. Focus Technology

First
  • Main troop type
  • Combat technologies
Later
  • Secondary troop types
  • Luxury research

Do not research everything at the same time.

7. Prioritize Commander Equipment

WeaponRanged
HelmetRanged
ChestInfantry
KnifeInfantry
PantsRiders
BootsRiders
BackpackAll troop types

Priorities

  • Ranged: Backpack → Weapon → Helmet
  • Infantry: Backpack → Chest → Knife
  • Riders: Backpack → Pants → Boots

One strongly upgraded item is more important than many half-upgraded items.

8. Prioritize the Backpack

The backpack affects all troop types. Many strong players prioritize it first.

  • Troop Counter DMG
  • Troop Normal Attack DMG

These stats significantly increase actual combat damage.

9. Common Equipment Mistakes

Many beginners waste resources by spreading equipment across too many heroes or chasing gear that they cannot realistically upgrade.

Common Mistakes
  • Equipping support heroes
  • Chasing Legendary gear too early
  • Building multiple unfinished sets
  • Ignoring equipment stars and set upgrades
Recommended
  • Equip only your main leader first
  • Complete one usable set before switching
  • Upgrade equipment stars
  • Focus resources on one main march

Important: One team only needs one equipment set for the leader hero.

Support heroes do not need equipment for battle. Their equipment does not provide combat value while they are used as assistants.

10. Equipment Quality Tiers

Higher rarity is not automatically better if you cannot upgrade it. A complete upgraded set is usually more useful than a rare unfinished set.

BlueImproved Starter Gear
PurpleMid-Game Equipment
OrangeHigh-Tier Equipment
Gold SetSet Equipment with set bonuses
Legendary SetHighest equipment tier with special frame

Beginner Rule

Build one normal equipment set to 5★ first before chasing a Gold or Legendary set that you cannot upgrade.

Weak Long-Term Choice
  • One rare item with no stars
  • Unfinished Gold or Legendary pieces
  • No complete set bonus
Stronger Early Choice
  • One complete usable set
  • Equipment upgraded to 5★
  • Resources focused on the main leader

Rule: Upgrade what you can finish. Do not chase the highest rarity too early.

11. Focus Armaments

Good armaments belong on leader heroes. Assistants do not need high-quality armaments.

Resources should be concentrated instead of spread out.

12. Always Take Part in Events

Even small events provide valuable long-term resources:

Fragments Speedups Materials Keys

13. Troops Are Consumables

Not every fight is worth it. Ask before every fight:

  • Does this fight give points?
  • Does this fight help the alliance?
  • Can I win this fight?

If the answer is “No” multiple times, reposition instead.

14. Alliance Is More Important Than Power

An active alliance provides help, rallies, events, knowledge and rewards.

A good alliance speeds up progress more than many purchases.
